These positions are part of a large investment by the University in interdisciplinary research in learning analytics, digital education, and the use of big data in educational research, building on our outstanding track record in informatics and digital education practice.

Each Chair will be embedded in one of seven Schools; Biological Sciences, Chemistry; Engineering, Geosciences, Informatics, Mathematics, and Physics & Astronomy. Collectively, they will also form the Centre for Science Education, building on recent developments and enhancements, notably in distance education, MOOCs and other technology-enabled teaching approaches.
