Title : Postdoctoral fellow position in Human-Computer Interaction for mobile learning software dedicated to children in developing countries
 
Institution: LICEF Research Center (http://www.licef.ca/ ) of the Tele-University of Quebec  (http://teluq.ca) at Montreal, Canada, in collaboration with DATAWIND R&D Montreal (http://ubislate.ca/).TÉLUQ, or Télé-université, is a distance learning school at the Université du Québec founded in 1972. In addition to several undergraduate programs, including four bachelor's degrees, TÉLUQ offers two master's degree programs and one PhD program. Overall, TÉLUQ has a course offering of about 400 distance learning courses, including 100 graduate courses. TÉLUQ has about 70 professors and a budget of over $50 millions.

Description : We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher specialized in Human-Computer Interactions, in the context of a project with the industrial partner DATAWIND.  The research project aims  the conception, the development and evaluation of  a learning mobile application (applying serious game concepts) dedicated to children in developing countries. This project involves a team with 4 professors, 5 Ph.D. candidates and 2 master students, with background in computer science, education and knowledge transfer.  For further information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8q_Pe69zag
 
In the context of his research, the postdoc will have to work with the research team and the industrial partner on:

- Producing and keeping updated the review of the literature on the project problematic;

- Developing and evaluating interaction models for young users on mobile devices;

- Writing and communicating the research results;

- Collaborating/co-advising Ph.D. students.

Profile expected:  a Ph.D. in computer science, with a specialization in HCI. Experience in HCI for education or with children is a plus. Candidate should be fluent in English (writing and speaking), French speaking and writing is not required.

Funding: Postdoc fellowship is for 12 months at 39000 $ CAD. Possibility of a second year fellowship, depending on the available funding.
