EC-TEL 2013 présenté par Ralf Klamma
The Eighth European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL 2013) will take place 17-21 September, 2013, in Paphos, Cyprus. EC-TEL is a unique opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to address current challenges and advances in the field. Through EC-TEL, established and emerging researchers as well as practitioners, entrepreneurs, and technology developers explore new collaborations, strengthen networks, and complement their core experience.
The theme of EC-TEL 2013 is "Scaling Up Learning for Sustained Impact". While Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) has created enormous changes in schools, universities and at the workplaces, innovations have tended to be unsustainable. Too often, initiatives need a high degree of effort to be sustained, and are consequently endangered when funding stops. Many initiatives now focus on scaling up bottom-up initiatives to create higher and more sustainable impact. These initiatives require an interdisciplinary perspective in TEL research and development, drawing on core disciplines of Computer Science, Education, Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Social Science. This blend of research traditions has always been a strength of EC-TEL and its vibrant community.
EC-TEL 2013 will feature a high quality program of rigorously peer reviewed research papers and a blend of other presentation and session formats including a demo sprint, a poster session, a doctoral consortium, an industry track, and a soccer tournament. In the days prior to the main conference, there will be scientific workshops, tutorials, and the opportunity to host project meetings. While submission of papers for the research track is already closed, there is still an opportunity to apply for participation in the EC-TEL Doctoral Consortium. Also there will be a second call for submission of demonstrations, and project managers are invited to apply for co-locating their project meetings with EC-TEL 2013.
